node-resolve software package provides Synchronous/Asynchronous require.resolve() algorithm, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install node-resolve
node-resolve is installed in your system.
Make ensure the node-resolve package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep node-resolve *
You will get with node-resolve package name, version, architecture and description in a table
